CLEP Exams
American Institute for Creative Living has been a private CLEP center for the Educational Testing Service for over forty years. The applicant is reminded that before calling AICL, he/she must be fully knowledgeable about CLEP procedures, administration etc. by going though the paces at the CLEP internet web. AICL does not provide advisement on preparation on exams nor basic computer operations (we will help in technical facility in taking the exam). However, the student should follow the advice given by CLEP and not appear for testing unless the material has been sufficiently mastered. Failure on a particular CLEP exam prohibits the student from re-examination on that exam for six months.No outside material may be brought to exam e.g. calculators; it is best not to bring notes or books etc with you.
Currently CLEP exams are only administered at AICL on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM by appointment. Only one student is allowed per session monitored by the Test Administrator. Test results are available at completion of exam and a written copy is also provided. Our set-up does away with waiting time, long lines etc. The AICL fee is $40. The particular exam fee is additional and must be paid by credit card. Additional identification must be presented to the Test Administrator.
1. Visit to CLEP web.
2. Mastery of the subject area.
3. Call (718) 698-0700 to arrange a time. The Director will inform you the same day you call as to whether the time you have selected is open for you.
4. If the time is agreed, you need to send a money order / bank check payable to AICL along with the CLEP
registration / application form (downloaded from web) to AICL, 2295 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314.
These must arrive at least 4-5 days before the exam. DO NOT SEND BY PRIORITY OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DELIVERY other than standard mailing. Do not bring it to the office.
5. Upon receipt of #4, you will receive a call from the Director of such fact and that all is set to go on the agreed date. If for any reason AICL needs to cancel, the exam will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient time and the $40 fee is waived.
6. If you decide to cancel, you are expected to notify AICL immediately (718) 698-0300 (24/7):
a if cancellation before $40 is sent, then there is no further obligation on either parties.
b.if cancellation after $40 is sent, AICL will decide at its own discretion whether to refund or not refund $40.
7. Failure to notify AICL ( # 6 a or b. ) may result in termination of future testing availability to the applicant.
